QParents External link is a secure, online portal that has been created by the Department of Education to provide parents of Queensland state school students with 24 hour access to their child's information.
The portal allows you to securely access information about your child and communicate directly with us.
QParents provides secure, online access to student information such as:
- view upcoming events
- access and provide digital consent
- view and update attendance details (including future absences)
- view and pay invoices
- view credits, account balance and payment history
- access report cards
- access enrolment history
You are also able to update your child's details including address and medical conditions, submit reasons for unexplained absences, notify the school of future absences, and make online payments against school invoices.
Create a QParents account
To start using QParents, download the app on your preferred device or visit the QParents website External link and create your account.
Identity verification
During the account creation process, you will be asked to verify your identity using 100 points of ID. You will only need to do this when you first register for QParents.
The department uses an identity verification service called GreenID, which uses the information you provide to ensure it matches the document provided by the issuers. The department and GreenID do not store the information you provide during this process.
You will be alerted via QParents if your identity has been successfully verified or if you need to provide more information.
Linking your account to your student’s data
Once you have successfully verified your identity, follow the steps to add your student. You may need to manually add them to your account using their EQ ID.
Accessing QParents
Once you have created your account, requested your student and your access has been approved by the school, you can access QParents via the app on your preferred device or by visiting the QParents website.
Your information and privacy
QParents is a secure portal that uses a range of security measures to protect the integrity and privacy of an account owner's personal data. The QParents privacy statement outlines how your privacy is protected.
Your student’s information in QParents is collected through school processes such as enrolment and/or recorded by teachers and school staff in the school’s IT system called OneSchool. If you don’t want your student’s information in QParents, contact your student’s school.
